Branding: getting the tone right

The Client

Decara Home is a bricks and mortar store in Battersea, South London. They focus on French elegance and a selection of beautiful objects for the home, personally selected by the owner. They don’t currently sell online, as most of their items are short runs, unique or custom made to order. Their social media is focused on customers from around London, collaboration with designers and some telephone orders from further afield.

The Brief

Images need to communicate clearly with clients so they can plan a visit to the shop. They must blend well with the usual quality of the social media feeds as curated by the owner. They should echo the calm elegance of the shop itself.

The Process

  1. Discussion
  2. Review existing images in light of discussion
  3. Gather existing logos, fonts, and colours
  4. Design appropriate templates for each channel (much more effective than reusing the same image as is)
  5. As needed, select suitable images from the owner’s archive and add relevant information
